Hello, My Name Is....

Another name for this should be "Six Degrees of Lance Muir"

Hello, my name is Caroline Wong and I live in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I first heard about Baxter Kruger through my pastor, Dave Annunziello, whose wife worked at the Ontario Christian Bookstore where Lance Muir is the manager. That's 3 degrees.

Let's see, what else can I say about myself? I'm a bibliophile and cat lover which of course also means, I'm single. I go to a very conservative Baptist church who has very little idea how heterodox I am. I figure as long as I'm not labelled homodox, they won't disfellowship me, being as they are quite phobic about anything "homo".

I used to be a five point Calvinist. Now I'm a four point Calvinist.

Okay, your turn. Tell us a little about yourself. Click on the Reply link on the top right hand corner, write your bio and then click Submit Post and you'll see your mark at the end of this thread

Let's see, number of degrees from Lance Muir (never heard of him).  Lance sounds like a fan of Baxter, and Baxter's my bud, so 2 degrees???   Anyway, my friend Rod pointed me toward this site, which I guess is only now getting going.  I'm happy to help get the party started!

I'm a bibliophile AND a cat lover, but happily married to my best friend who loves to talk theology with me.  I'm a 30-year-old pastor in Des Moines, Iowa, USA.  I work for a denomination that is in the process of rebuilding its theology from the ground up, and God seems to be guiding us to some great teachers--Barth, Torrance and Kruger.  So I guess you could call us pretty darn heterodox, and maybe even HOMOdox on our good days. (Ooooooohh...)

I've wrestled with T.F. Torrance for about a decade and am starting to get it.  Baxter's stuff has been great for me.  SO many things are finally falling into place.  I'm also a big postmodern guy, so I'm also a fan of Emergent and Brian McLaren

My name is Debbie. I am acquainted with Caroline through the famous Lance Muir, whose colleague I am at the bookstore, and that's where I first encountered Trinitarian theology. That understanding of the gospel excites me and inspires me to worship. My denominational background is a mixture of Brethren and Christian Reformed (with echoes of Mennonite), and I'm married to a Catholic who has enriched my faith in many ways. I'm a mother of three boys (18, 15, 11), an editor with training in linguistics, and a dabbler in poetry and music. I don't have time to read as much as I want and am learning to appreciate audio! I grudgingly endure the presence of a cat in my home.

Hi my name is Floyd,

well not really, it was the name the mentaly handicaped people gave me when I used to work with them.

My wife (who's british) and I live currently in Germany, I am german myself. We both are followers of Jesus Christ for quite a while now and have served at different denominations and once at a healing and counseling ministry in England.

About 3 years ago we came to know a couple from america, which completley changed our views on hell etc. Our Heavenly Dad was already in the process of changing our theology, coming from a quite fundamentalistic background and they only pushed us over the edge.

If I remember correctly I found my way to this forum through Mike Burke's 'Biblical Universalism' webpage. For me personaly the doctrine of the Trinity and biblical Universalism are connected and the later is only the logical conclusion of the first one.

By the way we live right to the border of the swizz town Basel, where Karl Barth lectured.

So I think that's enought for now.

Looking forward to interesting discussions.

Hi, my name is Hannah, I'm 24 years old.  I found Baxter Kruger 2-3 years ago, and love what he had to say! :)  I've been on quite a journey, I read Pagan Christianity by Frank Viola when I was 16 or 17 years old.  And that totally shattered everything! Lol  Then I found Wayne Jacobsen and listened to TGJ for a couple years, also read other books and such.
It's good to be here! :)
