I'm a pomoXian (a postmodern Christian) and my theology has been changing over the last two decades. I suppose the current term for that would be "emergent" but I like to think of it as getting older and wiser. I got my first bifocals last week so I get to say that.
One of the accusations I often hear is that pomoXian beliefs change with the latest trend so I thought I'll write out the philosophy of my theology. Much of this has been influenced by Stanley Grenz's book, Beyond Foundationalism.
My theology is like a canvas stretched out on a frame. The doctrines that make up that frame are:
1) God is ontologically love and He is Three in One.
2) Jesus Christ is the best revelation of who God is.
3) Theology is normed by scripture and inspired by the Holy Spirit.
The oil painting within the frame is becoming more complete but it can be changed and modified endlessly. The frame does not change and it gives the picture the structured space to take place.
